Color-Remover with Aaron Sanders Head

This workshop will explore using color remover and dye discharging as tools for creating patterns on textiles. using a variety of experimental approaches, including shibori, brushed-on patterns, sprays and more, we will dive deep into the world of removing color through various means.

participants are encouraged to bring a variety of fabrics to experiment with—commerically dyed, patterned and naturally dyed fabrics will all yield interesting results. polyester tends to not work well. sometimes fabrics will discharge to white, while other times they yield entirely different colors. come with an open mind and willingness to experiment and be delighted.

Participants should also bring high-sleeved rubber gloves and wear clothing that can be stained and/or an apron.
